Local Farm Bureau Agents raise funds for child's trip
About a month ago, local Farm Bureau Agent Randy Strnad invited us to a very special occasion, a pizza party at Happy Joe's for a little guy name Levi
Levi is special because he was born with a life-threatening situation called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. His mom Tanya explained this syndrome more thoroughly to us:
"This is a single ventricle heart defect which makes the heart unable to pump properly because the left side is underdeveloped."
Levi's condition was discovered before he was born, and he underwent one surgery when he was 8 days old, a second when he was 5 months old, and a third - a very complicated open heart surgery - in August 2016 at the University of Iowa.
